Phil and Liz Wiegers founded EGW Utility Solutions ( EGW ) in May of 2001 in Flower Mound , Texas . This was the beginning of a distribution company with a vision to provide quality products and services to the natural gas , waterworks and plumbing industries , while focusing on solving customer problems . Through hard work and a unique approach , EGW garnered quick success , including the addition of two strategic partners , Jeff Burnett and Ford Femal . Today , two of the three remain fully involved in the company ’ s day-to-day operations ; Phil serves as CEO , and Ford as Vice President and Territory Manager for the South Texas region .
After establishing EGW in the natural gas market , the owners looked to increase the company ’ s presence in the waterworks and plumbing industries . With this expansion , EGW outgrew its space in Flower Mound and moved into a 75,000-square-foot facility in Carrollton , Texas , where it has been operating since 2004 .
